Safety advice becomes useless when it is so general that it cannot be acted on. ‘Trust your instincts’ matters, but instincts work better when they are supported by a routine you have already decided on.
For independent Ladies, the most effective safety systems are usually simple and repeatable: clear booking information, consistent screening, boundaries that are not negotiated under pressure, controlled location sharing and a plan for leaving.
Screen behaviour, not only identity
Identity or age verification can establish useful facts, but it does not tell you whether someone will respect your boundaries. Read the interaction itself. Does he answer reasonable questions? Does the information remain consistent? Does he respect your preferred contact method and response time?
Pressure is information. Repeated urgency, attempts to bypass your process, anger about screening or offers to pay extra for exceptions should make you more cautious, not less.
Use a minimum booking-information standard
Decide what you need before confirming any booking. A typical minimum might include the date, time, duration, city or venue context, agreed rate and a reliable way to contact the client. For hotel bookings you may choose to confirm the hotel and room details later, once the arrangement is credible.
When the information is incomplete, the booking is not confirmed. This removes the need to decide from scratch every time somebody sends a vague message.
